Generally, there is a lack of studies in children for the use of melatonin, especially in terms of long-term safety. Instead, we try to focus on non-pharmacological measures in children.

If these measures don't work and your doctor recommends it, there is some data on the use of melatonin at 1 to 2 mg in kindergarteners (UpToDate).
