What can I do to adjust the pressure in my ears?

Hello! 10 days ago I started to get sick. Sore throat and fatigue, I ended up losing my voice for 2 days. Then, I was congested (greenish secretions then yellow "fluo") had earache, headache, sinus pressure and for more than 7 days now, my ears are blocked. I did 3 COVID tests in the first 5 days of symptoms and they were all negative. Right now, I still have bouts of fatigue, but the most unpleasant is the pressure in my ears. Depending on the time of day, I have one or two blocked ears with more or less discomfort associated with them. I don't think they are cerumen plugs. I have been doing 3 nasal showers a day (sinus rinse) for a week. I stopped using decongestant medication as it did not give the desired effect and gave me a restless sleep. I remember having a pressure problem in my ears about 10 years ago and the doctor told me to take nasal douches and wait for it to pass. I don't remember how long it took before it stopped. My doctor is away until August 8, my osteopath until August 3.

Hello ma'am, I'm sorry to read about your troubles!
What decongestant did you use? Are you taking any other medications right now? Do nasal douches help a little? How many times a day do you do it, is it 3?
Thank you

Hello,
I have been using liquigel (tylenol) cold & sinus capsules
I am currently treating my headaches with ibuprophen. Under the advice of my doctor, I take ibuprophen at the slightest headache as I am prone to frequent migraines
I don't feel that the nasal douches change much instantly, but the pressure started to go down gradually from the moment I started taking them

And yes, I do it 3 times a day. Morning, noon and 1 hour before bed.

Thanks for the feedback!
I suggest you do nasal hygiene as often as necessary during the day and at least 30 minutes before bedtime, there is no maximum number of times during the day
I also suggest using a decongestant nasal spray such as Drixoral or Dristan among others, twice a day (do not take Tylenol Sinus anymore) for a maximum of 5 consecutive days. This may help after nasal hygiene.
If this does not alleviate the problem or if it persists for more than 7 days, you should consult a physician for a thorough evaluation of your condition.

Thanks for the tips!
Are nasal sprays available over the counter at the pharmacy?
If I understand correctly, as soon as I feel the pressure rising in my ear, I give myself a nasal spray? Because I'm not congested as such right now. The only symptoms are the blocked ears and the headaches that the pressure causes.
And twice a day I use the spray after the nasal shower?
Was taking Tylenol sinus a bad idea?

This type of spray is indeed available without prescription in pharmacies and I advise to use it after the nasal hygiene
Yes I would advise you to use nasal hygiene as often as desired.
The Tylenol Sinus was not strictly speaking a bad idea but you report persistent symptoms so it is better to stop it
