Hello,
It is recommended not to take your blood pressure until at least 2 hours after taking coffee or stimulants. What is your usual blood pressure?

Thanks for the feedback. What I suggest you do for the next 7 days:
Measure your blood pressure 2 times in the morning and evening, 5 minutes apart each time, for 1 week. We'll leave the first day's results out.
If the average of the measurements is similar to what you just reported, I suggest that you consult a physician.
Here are some precautions to obtain accurate measurements:
  • Avoid any stimulants such as coffee, cigarettes, or medications (e.g., those for cold symptoms) at least 2 hours before. The same goes for meals and exercise.
  • Make sure your bladder is empty
  • Avoid tight clothing, the arm should not be under any pressure other than from the cuff of the device
  • do not do anything 5 minutes before the measurement. This includes reading, talking, listening to someone talk or watching TV.
Also, make sure you are in a proper measuring position. It will be easier to confirm this in person with your pharmacist, and if necessary check that your device is accurate.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, Pharmacist
