The numbness in my calf is becoming more and more recurrent and intense enough to wake me up. While I also have numbness in the same foot. I also have occasional cramps on the front of one thigh that are so intense that I feel nauseous.

Thank you for your question!
Diabetic neuropathy is mainly the result of poor blood sugar control. The best way to prevent it and/or reduce its extent is to ensure good blood sugar control throughout the day. To this end, a consultation with a nutritionist can often help to develop an eating plan that is both effective and realistic for you.
Also, exercise can help not only with blood sugar levels but also with symptoms of discomfort/pain/dizziness. We are not asking you to run a marathon, just 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity per day, such as active walking.
The most important thing will be not to prevent you from doing your activities (e.g. lying or sitting all day).
I am available if you have any further questions

Thank you very much for your information. We will try to walk a little more, I must say that I have had a lot of difficulty for about 18 months to exercise, that is to say since I started working nights.
