What should I take to help my tonsillitis infection before taking an antibiotic?

Hello, I suspect I have tonsillitis. I have small white spots at the back of my throat since 3 days and pain when I swallow. I feel that it is swollen.

Hello Mrs,
For the moment, your best solution for some relief is to use acetaminophen (Tylenol and other brands). Taking ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin and other brands) can also help if you have no contraindications to taking it, which you should confirm with your pharmacist.
I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, as you prefer
If you have a runny or stuffy nose, I suggest nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and others), which can be done as often as needed during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. By 'cleaning' the nasal secretions, we can reduce the feeling of pressure in the sinuses and prevent them from flowing backwards into the throat, which can be irritating.
In most cases, it is a virus that is the cause and the episode goes away by itself. If you do not see any improvement within 7 days of the onset of symptoms, or if the fever lasts more than 3 days, you should consult a doctor.
I hope this helps, and I am available if you have any further questions!
