Foot cramps can be related to an imbalance in your body's electrolytes or dehydration. It is therefore important to make sure you eat well and stay well hydrated. It is also recommended to do stretching exercises when cramps become frequent. It might be a good idea to stretch a few times a day. Is there a time of day when cramps are more prevalent?

Often in the morning when I get up and sometimes when I'm lying down (on the couch or in bed)
Thanks for the service

Thank you for this information. Certain medications increase the risk of suffering from this type of cramps. Are you taking any medications on a regular basis, and if so which ones?

For hypertension; hydrochlor and quinapril and
celecoxib and tylenol (for lumbosciatica).
Thank you for responding quickly

Some people experience cramps when their body's electrolytes (magnesium, calcium, potassium) are somewhat unbalanced. Taking diuretics (hydrochlorothiazide) and taking ACE inhibitors (quinalapril) and anti-inflammatory drugs may contribute to electrolyte imbalances. Discuss with your doctor or pharmacist whether blood work may be necessary, based on the symptoms you describe. In the meantime, make sure you eat a varied diet and stay well hydrated.
