I sprained my ankle yesterday, I wanted to know if I should put something on it like a cream to help the pain?

Good evening ma'am,
You are fine to apply the ice as you do. I would recommend that you continue the ice application for about 3 days after the sprain. After that, you can switch to some heat to help keep the joint flexible.
As for the cream, you can apply Voltaren™ twice a day for at least 5 to 7 days. This will decrease the pain and inflammation. One can use this cream and take Tylenol™ by mouth for pain if that is not enough, but avoid Motrin or Advil.
Also, avoid applying weight or putting too much strain on the joint for at least 10 more days to help with healing.
Good evening :)
