I have been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months; is it normal that it doesn't work?

I have been off the Alesse pill since January & had been taking it since I was 13! Any ways to help with conception?

Hello,
Thank you for your question
Rest assured, nothing is abnormal at this time. Some women get pregnant faster than others, but as long as the one-year mark is not passed, everything is still considered normal
To help you, you could use a smartphone app to track your menstrual cycle. For example, there is the My Calendar app that might help you; there are several others that you can find by searching. Once you have established your ovulation time using the app, you will know when your chances of getting pregnant are highest. There are also ovulation tests, available in pharmacies, that can help you know your ovulation period and therefore, the ideal time to try to conceive.
Some studies also suggest that a vitamin D supplement, at a rate of 1,000 units per day, may increase fertility. You can find this supplement in pharmacies without a prescription.
If after a year of trying to conceive, you still don't get pregnant and you still want to become pregnant, you can consult a doctor who will be able to help you in this process
I hope to have answered your question and remain available for any additional information!
