I am pregnant and have insomnia, can I take something like melatonin or something else? I am 14 weeks pregnant.

Good evening Madam,
The use of melatonin during pregnancy is not recommended. Instead, we should look into stuff that is known to be very effective for pregnant women sometimes suffering from sleep problems:
  • Have regular wake-up and bedtimes;
  • Avoid afternoon naps;
  • Make sure your bedroom represents a sleep-friendly environment, such as not overheating the room (18-19°C) and limiting sources of noise and light;
  • Avoid using screens in the evening (phone, tablet, computer);
  • Avoid stimulating drinks after dinner (Coke, tea, coffee);
  • Eat lighter in the evening;
All of these tips should help you sleep better and not expose your baby to medications that are less safe for them 😊.
It's my pleasure,
