Thank you for these details. It is true that people who do not consume 2 servings of "fatty" fish per week can be recommended to take a fish oil supplement. As for the effect on cholesterol, it is not very effective. In fact, fish oil supplements mainly reduce triglycerides, which is not really the same thing as the total cholesterol you mentioned. So you could try the supplements, and if you have any side effects, you could stop them. What do you think?
