Hello,
If so, do you have any tips on how to prevent it? For example, would doing it less often help?

Thank you for your question!
I want to reassure you that cycling does not cause hemorrhoids. However, it can make hemorrhoids worse if the person is currently suffering from this type of condition.
With that in mind, here are some steps you can take to reduce your risk of hemorrhoids:
Promote a diet rich in fiber (fruits & vegetables, whole grains, etc.) and drink plenty of fluids to help soften the stool
Exercise regularly
Have a bowel movement as soon as you feel the need
Avoid straining at the bowel movement: if the person has to strain, I invite him/her to stop, get up, and try again later
Get up directly after having finished your bowel movements: avoid reading the newspaper, a book or your phone while having a bowel movement.
I hope I've reassured you, don't hesitate if you have any other questions!
