In your opinion, is the amount listed on the product too high? Can I drink alcohol on the same day as taking magnesium?

I bought magnesium because several symptoms led me to doubt a possible deficiency. I find that the recommended daily amount on the product is high. I would like to have an opinion. The dosage of my product, which contains 250mg of magnesium glycinate and 2.5mg of vitamin B6, is as follows: 2 capsules, 1-3 times a day. It seems to me that this is high.

Good morning, ma'am,
A magnesium deficiency is rare and can only be detected with a blood test.
There are no concrete benefits demonstrated with magnesium supplementation if there is no deficiency. If there is a deficiency, we try to start with the lowest possible dose and take it with food to reduce the risk of side effects such as diarrhea.
However, I suggest that you ask your pharmacist first, who will be able to verify if there are any interactions or contraindications.
I hope I've been helpful to you and I'm available if you have any other questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
