Hello,
Thank you for your question, I hope I will be able to answer it at least in part.
From a psychologist's point of view, it could be that the reactions you are reporting are associated with stress and anxiety, as these are indeed known symptoms (e.g. heat, weakness, choking, discomfort in the stomach, sudden craving). As if suddenly your nervous system goes into protective mode in the face of a real or imagined threat.
In this sense, it might be beneficial to understand your reaction from this perspective and find ways to decrease stress and anxiety in general. Here are some mini tips to help with this:
  • Learn how to regulate stress and anxiety, such as through breathing techniques or grounding techniques;
  • Consciousness about what your triggers are when you experience these reactions;
  • Putting words to what you're feeling to better understand your emotional reactions;
  • Awareness of your lifestyle habits (e.g., sleep, coffee, eating, eating, and drinking) can help you understand your emotional reactions.e.g., sleep, coffee, food, alcohol, physical activity, etc.).
If it becomes more intrusive than once a week and limits certain aspects of your life, it may be helpful to meet with a psychologist or psychotherapist for help.
This is not medical advice, however. If symptoms persist or intensify, I strongly recommend that you see a physician to determine what other causes might be present.
Sincere,
Dr. Jici Lord-Gauthier,
Clinical Psychologist
