Can I take vitamins D and B12 if I am already taking Materna?

33-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello, I was taking 1000 mcg of B12, 300mg of magnesium and 1000 IU of vitamin D3 daily (for digestion, mood and fatigue). Since then, (2 1/2 weeks) I have noticed that I am much more tired and feel constantly bloated (constipated). I know that the iron in materna can cause constipation. I have started taking 150mg of magnesium every night at bedtime for the past week, which helps a lot with my digestive situation but the fatigue and bloating still remains.

Hello Mrs., thank you for your question!
Usually Materna contains enough supplements. However, it is recommended that you take 1000 IU of vitamin D per day. You could supplement what is in Materna, if you wish. Vitamin B12 is only required if you have a deficiency, and the same goes for magnesium. You can take it, but it is not strictly necessary unless you have a deficiency
For bloating, do you take Materna with food? At what time of the day?

Hello! Thank you for your answer!
i take materna at lunch or dinner, with food yes. I tried to take it once on its own and I felt nauseous. I don't have a deficiency proven by a health check-up, my doctor recommended B12 because after being very sick, I had a lot of difficulty with my concentration and energy. As for magnesium, it was a naturopath who recommended that I take it following an evaluation for a food plan

Thanks for the feedback!
I don't see any problems with taking all these supplements at the same time.
