I had shingles last year in October. What do you think about vaccination? I am 57 years old and pre-menopausal.

Hello Ma'am,
The shingles vaccine can be given despite the fact that you have already had an episode of shingles (we usually wait for the lesions to go away, which is probably your case considering that the infection occurred last year).
The vaccine greatly reduces the chances of the virus reactivating, so I think it's worth getting the shot at your age.
Note that the vaccine also greatly reduces the risk of pain from the infection continuing after an episode of shingles has occurred.
Happy day,
