Is there a medication/treatment that can help me with the reactions?

I am allergic to cats and would love to adopt one. I have sneezing, congestion and a runny nose when I am in contact with them. Thank you, is it harmful to take Claritin every day for a long period of time?

Hello, if you are not taking any medication, Claritin (loratadine) 10mg taken once a day on a regular basis could prevent allergy symptoms, with almost no side effects. Be aware, however, that if you adopt a cat, you will have to take it continuously every day as long as the animal is with you. No problem! It is safe for long-term use.
