Topical decongestants (spray applied to the nose) are compatible with breastfeeding. Decongestants taken by mouth in pill form are not recommended during breastfeeding because they may reduce milk production.

For your nasal congestion symptoms, I recommend that you first try Sinus Rinse, if you have not already done so. This product sold in pharmacies is free of side effects and is very effective when taken properly. Ask a pharmacist to explain how to use it.

If your symptoms persist with the use of Sinus Rinse, then use topical decongestants, such as Dristan and Otrivin. But beware, their use over several days without interruption can cause rebound congestion.
