My doctor prescribed me 150 mg of wellbutrin that I've been taking for 1 year with no side effects...lately I've been having trouble sleeping so he prescribed me lyrica 25mg before bed. In short, I went to the forums for lyrica and I panicked because of the side effects of suicide attempts and so on...I have in the past at 16 and at 22 made an attempt but was not on any medication...at 22 it's because of ecstasy that I don't take it anymore for a long time, but since I have already had episodes of depretion and suicide attempts, can lyrica be dangerous for me and I'm afraid to take it ....? Thank you

Good morning, Madam,

Like any medication, Lyrica (pregabalin) is not without side effects. In fact, when reviewing the literature on the subject, there have been cases of suicide or attempted suicide among users of this medication. That said, most patients take doses larger than 25 mg per day.

Please note that Lyrica is not indicated for sleep disorders. When prescribed for this reason, a possible side effect of the drug is used, namely drowsiness.

In your case, if you are concerned about taking the medication, I recommend that you do not take it and instead talk to your pharmacist who can take steps with the doctor to find the most appropriate medication for you.

Also, Wellbutrin can sometimes cause insomnia. Try to take it early in the day (in the morning, for example), so that it doesn't stimulate you before bedtime.

Does this answer your question?

Yes it's ok thanks for the info but I take wellbutrin at 6 30 am ...should I take it even earlier?

No. 6:30 a.m. is already early enough. Therefore, I recommend that you talk to your pharmacist to find an alternative to Lyrica.

Okay, that's what I'm going to do anyway, I'm not going to touch it again, I was feeling really weird with it, so he suggested yoga, and at least it's working and it's more natural, without any ugly side effects on me, and thank you very much for your answer, it helped me a lot to learn a new skill.

Glad to read that yoga is working well! Feel free to come back and ask me questions.
