Coughing during pregnancy

Question

26 weeks pregnant with bad hacking coughing fits for the last 4 days. worsens when lying down. What can i take besides Benylin & Tylenol? Tried natural methods as well with very little relief. Sweating at night but no significant fever. Thanks for your reply. As of yesterday I have runny nose ( not blocked) and nasal drip causing more excessive coughing fits. I can feel mucus draining at the back of my throat when I lie down. Thank you, much appreciated. I’ll give both a try

Hello! Do you have other symptoms, like runny nose or nasal congestion? Fever? Thank you for the info. You can use during the day a nasal rince solution (Hydrasense or Sinus Rince for example). Also, if you are not taking any other medication (other than prenatal vitamins and/or nausea medication), given your symptoms, taking an anti-histamine like Claritin could help with your nasal symptoms including the post-nasal drip. It is safe during pregnancy and does not cause drowsiness. Do you have any other questions I can help you with?
