Hi, can I give Benadryl to an 11 month old in case of allergic reaction? I was just wondering in case he gets an allergic reaction how much should I give if he weighs 24 pounds? Thanks!

Hello, if the allergic reaction is localized, i.e on a certain and restricted part of the body, it is best to apply a topical treatment.
If the reaction is all over the body and causes visible distress to the child, Benadryl could be considered but not before speaking to a pharmacist or other health care provider first.
The amount of medication is given according to the weight of the child and the concentration of the product.
It is 1 to 1,25 mg of medication per kg of body weight 3 to 4 times daily as needed.
The number of mg needs to be converted to ml. As mentioned before, this is only to be done after speaking with a healthcare provider.
Kind regards
