Is it dangerous to drink alcohol while taking metronidazole?

Hi I started this treatment last night for bacterial vaginosis 1 pill 500mg twice a day! My best friend's 18th birthday party on Friday & we were supposed to go out to a club but I read that I couldn't drink with this medication? even take 3-4 shots? What would be the consequences?

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question! Metronidazole can alter the metabolism of alcohol and cause quite unpleasant effects such as hot flashes, headaches, and a general feeling of discomfort.
