Can you get tetanus by cutting yourself with a slightly rusty razor blade in the corner?

Also, how often should we throw away our razor? In my situation, I shave my underarms and bikini area and I use my razor once a week and I do NOT leave it in the shower so it can dry well. What are the consequences of not changing regularly enough? Is it serious?

i've been using the same disposable razor for a few months and it's still good and still effective (no redness or anything) so should I change it anyway?

Hello Mrs.! To answer your first question, tetanus is on the decline in Canada, thanks to vaccination. It must be repeated at least every 10 years, or sooner in case of serious injury. The bacteria that cause tetanus can penetrate any wound, it is not mandatory that it be with a blade. The most important thing is to clean the lesions well.
For your razor blades, they are covered with a film to keep the blade intact and to reduce irritation. This film is removed after each use, which can increase the risk of irritation. Also, since the surface of the blade is no longer as smooth, it can allow bacteria to take hold.
As for changing your razor, the recommended interval of use is usually indicated on the package. If you shave once a week, depending on the product, it is recommended to change the razor every 6 to 8 weeks. This interval should definitely be shorter if you notice any damage or rust on your blade!
I hope I've been of some help to you, so please don't hesitate if you have any other questions!
