I am taking topiramate and I have nausea and vomiting?

Hello, I take Topiramate 25 mg, 3 tablets a day, 1 in the morning and 2 in the evening for a preventive treatment for migraines prescribed by my neurologist. I have been taking 3 tablets a day for about 3 weeks. I have also noticed a loss of appetite for the last 1 to 2 weeks.

Good morning, ma'am, Loss of appetite is a fairly common side effect of topiramate. I think it would be wise to talk to your pharmacist about this: a lowering of the dose could be considered, even if temporarily, in order to evaluate if the nausea and loss of appetite diminish at a lower dose I hope this has been helpful and remain available if you have any further questions Tom Samaha, pharmacist
