Hello Ma'am,
Nausea and vomiting are common symptoms in early pregnancy. Fortunately, there are medications to help alleviate these symptoms. I invite you to consult your family pharmacist if you do not already have a treatment for this condition, he will be able to help you better manage your nausea or refer you to the doctor if necessary.
There are also several non-pharmacological means that can help you. I'll name a few of them here:
- Eat small amounts of food at a time
- Avoid eating spicy, fatty, or fried foods
- Avoid going too long without eating
- Get some fresh air and avoid getting too hot
About your multivitamins , the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada recommends stopping them when a pregnant woman is experiencing nausea and vomiting, as they often contain iron which can make these conditions worse. Folic acid alone is adequate in this case. When your nausea and vomiting have decreased or stopped, you can resume the multivitamin, preferably during a meal or at bedtime to promote better tolerance. For more information on managing your nausea and vomiting, I suggest you visit the following link
here.
So it is important in your case to maintain a healthy, balanced diet and stay well hydrated.
If you notice weight loss, signs of dehydration (dry lips, dark urine), or if your nausea and vomiting are intense and incapacitating, I encourage you to see your doctor.
I hope I have adequately answered your question!
Happy day,
