A drug cascade is when a person receives drugs to offset the side effects of another drug
For example, a person receives drug A but it causes undesirable effects, he will be given drug B for that, and so on. For prevention, it is your treatment team (doctor, pharmacist, etc.) that must constantly reassess the appropriateness of the treatments a person is taking.
