Valtrex/Shingles/Vaccine/Covid long. I have had the long Covid for 16 months, 60 years old, and I read that there is a chance that I will develop Shingles... Question;I have herpes and have been taking 1 Valtrex 500 mg daily for 5 years to prevent attacks.

Unfortunately, there are no real studies showing that this can be done in the general population: I have only found one very small study over a short period of time, in patients treated for cancer The best prevention is still vaccination, including Shingrix. Therefore, although you are taking valacyclovir for another indication, I cannot suggest that you rely solely on it for shingles prevention.
