Is the shingles vaccine effective only after the second dose?

Let's just say it's more of a comment on my last question (my spouse who had shingles). Your answers got me thinking about getting the shingles vaccine. My appointment is this week. Thank you again for your help.

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question!
Like many vaccines (COVID, hepatitis, etc.), Shingrix requires more than one dose to solidify the immune response. Doses should be at least 2 months apart. I unfortunately do not have the efficacy data after only 1 dose.
I hope I've been helpful, I'm still available if there's anything!
