Nasal spray or syringe for nasal cleansing?

34-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, my 21 month old daughter had laryngitis (diagnosed) at the children's hospital Sunday night, she had a corticosteroid dose to help her get her breathing back. Last night she woke up from nv looking for her breath with a lot of reassurance she managed to fall asleep on a raised mattress! Her cough has become greasy but also barking like before! No fever, no secretion, no weakness, no runny or stuffy nose! I did nasal washing with the syringe and I don't like it at all, it's too difficult for her as well as for me to force to do it, is it necessary to do it in her case If so, can I use a hydrasense baby spray instead of the syringe? Is it necessary to blow the nose with hydrasens after nasal cleaning (if this is necessary for her case, I remind you that her nose is not running and is not blocked either) Thank you

Hi, thanks for your question!
Yes, you could use the sprayer instead of the syringe. And regardless of the method, it is suggested that you use a baby fly to help suck up the secretions and prevent them from falling down the back of the throat as much as possible
You mention that the nose is not blocked or runny either, however it could be that the nose is running from behind, which may explain the coughing that is mostly present at bedtime
I hope I have been helpful to you, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions
