Can I use NeoCitran Extra Strength Cold & Sinus Nightcap, Apple Cinnamon Flavor when I am 24 weeks pregnant?

Hello, I am 24 weeks pregnant and I have a bad cold and I wanted to know if I am allowed to take the product : NeoCitran extra strength Cold and Sinus Night, apple cinnamon flavor. Active ingredients: Each sachet contains: Analgesic: Acetaminophen 650mg Decongestant: Phenylephrine hydrochloride 10mg Antihistamine: Pheniramine Maleate 20 mg Thank you so much for your advice!!! :)

Hello ma'am, congratulations on your pregnancy :)! I'm sorry to read about your troubles though! Some of the ingredients in this product are not considered safe for use during pregnancy, so they should be avoided. The best treatment is nasal hygiene with saline solution such as Hydrasense or Sinus Rinse which can be done as often as needed during the day and at least 30 minutes before bedtime. It's a little uncomfortable but works extremely well to prevent secretions from running down the throat, which often causes coughing. I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot depending on your preference. If you have pain (throat or otherwise), Tylenol can be taken without any problem, as well as lozenges like Halls or Fisherman's Friend for local relief of throat irritation.
