I have read that it is not recommended for pregnant women. I have been taking Drixoral lately and it worries me because I am pregnant. Should I go and see a doctor?

Hello,
Both Dristan and Drixoral are compatible with pregnancy since these decongestants act locally. It is the decongestant pills (e.g. Tylenol sinus, Advil sinus, Sudafed) that are not recommended during pregnancy. For most over-the-counter medications, it will often be indicated that they are contraindicated during pregnancy or breastfeeding. In fact, companies do few studies on this clientele and seek to protect themselves from potential lawsuits. Therefore, it is more important to consult specialized resources to get the facts.
