I am pregnant and I have a sore throat and secretions too, what can I take?

I am starting to get a sore throat or secretions in my throat. What can I do to make it go away? I am 13 weeks pregnant. I took tylenol 30 minutes ago. I do not have a fever and I did a covid test and it is negative. I don't have a cough and I am tired.

Hello Madam, I am sorry to read about your troubles!
You did well with the Tylenol, you can continue to take it. You can also use lozenges like Halls or Fisherman's Friend which are safe during pregnancy. I also encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, depending on your preference.
If you have secretions in your throat, they may be coming from the sinuses that run down the back of your throat. To this end, I strongly recommend nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and others), which can be done as often as needed during the day, and at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
I hope I have helped you, and I am available if you have any further questions!
