Hello Ma'am,
If you are used to consuming herbal tea, caution is advised since little is known about the effect of many herbs during pregnancy. Some are beneficial for pregnant women, such as ginger for nausea or raspberry leaf tea for toning the uterus, but others can interfere with a healthy pregnancy.
Here are the top herbs to avoid during pregnancy.
  • Because they stimulate the uterus: spearmint, feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) - not to be confused with the German chamomile found in stores - senna, cascara sagrada, bearberry, marrubia and goldenseal.
  • Because they can have a hormonal effect: sage, licorice, Chinese angelica, black cohosh, vitex (chasteberry), ginsengs and eleutherococcus.
  • Because they can increase bleeding time: Ginkgo biloba and Chinese angelica.
Bref, it's best not to take your herbal teas during pregnancy :)
Good day,
