I have only tried a hot water compress. I don't wear contacts. It doesn't look much in pictures. A little more red and maybe swollen.

You did well with the hot compresses, I encourage you to continue: at least twice a day, for at least 5 to 10 minutes. The compress must be warm, so stay close to the water source
