Will chlamydia treatment fix the eye irritation?

25-year-old woman2 years ago
Hello, for the last 3-4 days my left eye has been red with a burning sensation and a feeling of having a grain of sand under the eyelid. My eyelids are swollen and the eye is crying constantly (tears of clear liquid). I do not have any allergy and I did not receive a foreign body in the eye. Currently, I am under treatment for chlamydia (in treatment for 2 days). I saw on the internet that conjunctivitis can be caused by chlamydia.

Hello ma'am,
Usually this will be the same treatment.
Do you have pain in your eye, difficulty tolerating light or decreased vision? Have you tried anything for this problem?

Hello,
Thank you very much for your response.
It is more of an irritating and unpleasant burning sensation than pain. I tolerate light and my vision has not changed. I apply cold or warm compresses to my eye and it soothes the discomfort. I have tried eye drops (artificial tears) which give me little relief. Nothing else was suggested to me in pharmacy.
The last two days were the worst in terms of discomfort, but gradually today the eye is less red and the tearing is less worse. It may indeed be because of the treatment. I will keep track of my symptoms.

Thanks for the feedback!
Indeed, it is often viral in origin and you did well with the artificial compresses and tears. I would encourage you to continue this, you can apply the drops as often as needed.
I will remain available if you have any further questions!
