My child has a fever and is holding his ear, can I give him Polysporin in his ears?

My 2.5 year old has had pink eye in the last few days. Now he has ear infections and T°38.1 rectal I treated the conjunctivitis with polysporin in drops without consultation. Can I do the same for a possible ear infection?

Thank you for your question!
Polysporin is not a preferred option in this case.
The first line of treatment for this situation is to give her acetaminophen (Tylenol, Tempra and other brands) as this will help relieve both the ear pain if there is any, as well as the fever
If the pain or fever ever persists for more than 3 days, it is recommended to consult a doctor for a thorough evaluation of the condition and to not delay the proper treatment.
I hope I have been helpful, please feel free if you have any further questions!
