Hello Mrs,
In order to better understand your needs, would it be possible to obtain the following information:
  • How long have you had the cough?
  • Do you have other symptoms such as a runny or blocked nose, even a little?
  • Are you currently taking any other medications?
  • Do you have any allergies or intolerances?
  • Are you pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breastfeeding?
Thank you for your time!

Thank you for the information!
I asked about other symptoms because very often the cough is due to sinus drainage from behind in the throat. This is even more pronounced in the evening when you lie down. To this end, nasal hygiene with a saline solution (Hydrasense, Sinus Rinse and other brands) can greatly help relieve the cough. I am inclined to recommend this as it is safe and could greatly benefit you.
I encourage you to drink plenty of fluids, cold or hot, as you prefer.
If the air in your home is dry, the use of a humidifier may also be beneficial.
Lozenges can help if you have irritation, and a teaspoon of honey can relieve the cough.
If you suspect the cough might be related to allergies, taking an anti-histamine like Aerius, Claritin or others, might also help.
I hope I've been helpful, and I'm always available if there's anything else!
