My daughter has a persistent cough?

31-year-old womana year ago
Hello, my 5 year old daughter has a cough for 1 month, green secretion, and this morning the eyes swell and red. She took syrup, claritin sinus rinse 3 times a day and at the beginning tylenol. I don't know what to do with a red eye like this one, it came out after her swimming pool class.

Hello ma'am, I'm sorry to read about his troubles!
Did the cough come from a cold?
Are the secretions green all day or only in the morning?
Do the eyes run during waking hours?
Has Claritin helped relieve any symptoms?

The cough occurred after a nasal discharge. In the morning and evening the secretions are green and less in the afternoon. Her eye started this morning with a lot of secretions sticking to the eyes and small discharges but it stopped after 30 minutes of waking up. The claritin helped for a while with the cough (5 days) she only took it in the morning

Thanks for the information!
If she has other symptoms like sneezing, tingling in the nose, eyes, or throat, I suggest continuing Claritin. Nasal hygiene should be done as often as needed, there is no maximum number of times during the day.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.
Warm compresses can help clean the eyes upon awakening, but should not be shared or reused.
If any of the symptoms persist for more than 7 days without improvement or if they get worse, a doctor should be consulted as a precaution.
I hope I have been helpful, I will remain available if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist

Hello mr.samaha
We have consulted and finally our daughter has an otitis and a perforated eardrum. She is under anti biotic since 2 days (she still has huge crisis of pain at the hour and liquid comes out a lot. After how long does the anti biotic take effect? My daughter has a big antecedent of otitis, the anti biotics were not very effective, we were in intra muscular and after surgery :( she started to bleed from her nose a lot too :( is it normal?

Good morning, ma'am,
The effects of the antibiotic can usually be appreciated after a maximum of 72 hours. However, Tylenol or Tempra can also be given at the same time as the antibiotic for pain.
For nosebleeds, I suggest using the full mixture of Sinus Rinse but only using half the bottle and applying only light pressure. You should also avoid having her blow her nose too vigorously, and avoid using your fingers to wipe the nostrils with a tissue
The use of a saline spray such as Salinex, or a gel such as Secaris, can help if there is crusting in the nostrils. They can be used as often as needed.
