Can a corticosteroid cream depigment the skin?

54 -year-old man2 years ago
I have a sun intolerance on my face, my skin burns even with a good sun cream. To remedy the burns, my dermatologist prescribed "Cortoderm" cream to be applied twice a day for 7 to 10 days. However, after 3 days, I notice depygmentation in certain places on my face, is this normal?

Hello, thank you for your question!
Is the depigmentation where the ointment was applied or elsewhere? Does the depigmentation persist or is it temporary?

Hello,
In fact, it is in some places treated with the ointment (more visible in the beard area where the hair has decreased in some places) and in other places where there was no ointment. I had noticed this before the treatment and it persists. Is this part of the healing process? Thank you

Thank you for the information!
If no improvement has been noticed after 3 weeks of treatment, perhaps it is not the right treatment. To that effect, I invite you to consult your doctor for a re-evaluation of the situation, as a precaution.
