I fell down the stairs on Saturday. I have bruises, muscle pain and difficulty moving. Is this due to the fall?

Hello,
Without knowing exactly where the impact was when you fell down the stairs and where your bruises and pain are exactly, I think there is a good chance that the two are indeed related. Does their location seem to coincide with the areas where you fell?
Would you like me to advise you on measures to reduce the pain and bruising?
Sincerely,

Hello, I fell on my buttocks but I also have pain in my back and legs.
I would like some advice to reduce the pain.
Thank you

If you have fallen on your buttocks, then yes, the pain and bruising may indeed be the result of your fall.
To this end, I recommend the following measures:
  • ROBAXACET or ROBAX PLATINUM: These include two ingredients, an analgesic (either acetaminophen for Robaxacet or ibuprofen for Robax Platinum) and a muscle relaxant. This helps relieve pain and relaxes muscles. If you think there is swelling, Robax Platinum is best, but you should take it with food as it is a little more irritating to the stomach. Otherwise, Robaxacet works just as well. However, these products can cause drowsiness.
  • If drowsiness is not acceptable to you, you may want to use extra strength Tylenol or Advil. These are the same products as before, but without the muscle relaxant effect.
  • ANTIPHLOGISTINE or MYOFLEX: You can massage the painful areas with these creams which will often provide a warm sensation and help to soothe the pain.
  • VOLTAREN EMULGEL: This is an anti-inflammatory cream. Unlike Antiphlogistine or Myoflex, it does not have a warming effect, but is more like applying Advil directly to the skin. If you want to use Voltaren, however, you should avoid anti-inflammatory products like ibuprofen or Robax Platinum. Acetaminophen products (Tylenol or Robaxacet) can be combined with Voltaren. This product is available without a prescription, but must be requested from the pharmacist as it is held behind the counter.
  • ARNICA GEL: This is a homeopathic cream that can be effective in reducing bruising, ecchymosis and muscle pain
If the fall was less than 48 hours ago, alternating hot and cold applications for 15 minutes, 4 times a day, can also help... After the first 48 hours, the application of heat is more recommended.
I hope this helps... Do not hesitate to contact me again if you have any other questions or need clarification.
Sincerely,

Thank you very much. Indeed I fell on my buttocks, but my leg and upper back also hurt. I had tried to put ice on it but I had too much pain to have anything "heavy" on me. I had taken Tylenol and Robaxacet, but I will continue, thank you very much again!
