Hello my 4 year old boy had a hair caught under his foot skin. We removed the hair with a disinfected needle, while disinfecting his foot. However, he tells me that he still has pain under his foot. The area is red and when I weigh I feel a small bump. Should we go to the hospital or can we get something in the pharmacy to cure it?

Hello Madam, how long has he been complaining of pain? Has the pain increased since it started? Is there any redness or swelling? Would it be possible to upload some well-lit images?

Hello,
He has been complaining of pain for 3 days now, 2 days after removing the hair. The area is bright red and then the lump I feel under the skin seems to have grown since yesterday. When I touch the area, it hurts extremely.
I don't have a picture right now since he is at daycare.

Thank you for the feedback. If the redness, swelling or pain increases or persists beyond 3 days, you will need to consult quickly. For now, just clean with clear water and mild soap and cover with a bandage if the skin barrier is broken.
