High testosterone and miscarriage: is there a link?

I have had 3 miscarriages and have no children. I learned that my testosterone was way too high (5.39). I have not yet followed up with the endocrinologist, nor have I had an appointment with my doctor. Does the testosterone problem automatically cause a miscarriage? Should I stop trying until I have a treatment? Thank you for your help!

Hello Ma'am,
Evidence does indeed seem to point in the direction that testosterone (too much of it) may be linked to a reduction in the efficiency of implantation of the fetus to the uterus in early pregnancy, and thus a risk of miscarriage at that same time. That said, this is not the only possible cause and it is not entirely clear if this link is indeed present (between testosterone and miscarriage), as indicated in the following article (in English): JOGC.
That said, this in no way prevents you from continuing to try to conceive while waiting for your endocrinology appointment. It's not dangerous at all.
