I took meloxicam 7.5mg bid for pain shoulder bursitis and the my stomach burns like fire for 3 days. I hardly eat and I am weak with nausea. I can't even go to work. I have hypotension 87/54 pulse 73. I already take dexilant bid and zantac bid. I passed the camera and no ulcer but I was red at the bottom of my stomach

Hello Mrs.,
In addition to Dexilant and Zantac, I would think that adding Maalox (or equivalent like Almagel) could provide some relief. This being said, Dexilant BID in addition to Zantac and you still have symptoms, this does not seem normal to me
I don't have the reasons for the meloxicam prescription, but it doesn't seem normal to me either in a person requiring high dose Dexilant and Zantac. Did your pharmacist give you any information about meloxicam? Do you have any allergies to other medications, or, for example, a contraindication to taking Celebrex?

I take gaviscon liquid and I take meloxicam for shoulder bursitis pain and I have to have a facet block also neck. But I was taking naproxen 500 mg coated but it did the same thing to me. My doctor prescribed it for me. And allergy penicillin and codeine
Celebrex does not work for my pain.

Thanks for the feedback!
Without having all the relevant information, it is difficult to develop a treatment plan, but I would think that you should at least decrease the dose of meloxicam, if not stop it. I would suggest contacting your pharmacist who can customize a treatment plan with you and suggest alternatives to your doctor. He/she will also be able to follow up closely with you.

Oh yeah I stopped the meloxicam. I was able to get an appointment with my doctor and I hope to find a medication that will make me feel better without my stomach hurting but at the moment we have not found anything
Thank you for your help, it's great to have a program like this
Congratulations
