Can I apply mupirocin ointment to the labia majora?

Hi, I have a prescription for taro mupirocin that I use to put on pimples when they start to look like a boil. I have already had two pierced in my groin by a doctor. A few days ago I got one that appeared on my labia majora. On the tube it says for external use only. Are the labia majora considered internal or external? Thank you for your help.

Hello ma'am,

Large labia are considered external use, you can apply mupirocin to this area, but you will need to avoid trying to pierce the lesion.
