Are these symptoms of vaginitis? Is there anything more powerful to treat this than anti-fungal cream?

26-year-old womana year ago
Hello, I had a urinary tract infection more than a week ago, I finished my antibiotics last week (it was cipro x3 days), the symptoms are gone. Since a few days, I feel a burning sensation at the vulva, not necessarily at the urethra or during micturition, there is no risk of STD or pregnancy, I have tried antifungal cream for 1 day and to date there seems to be no improvement. Also, I swear more often but without any burning sensation.

Hello ma'am, have you experienced these symptoms in the past?
What cream did you apply?

Yes, I have had recurrent urinary tract infections for several years and I often have some kind of disruption before my period, after taking antibiotics and sometimes after playing sports (irritation, redness, burning). I have applied canesten type cream (but home-made).

Thanks for the feedback, sorry for my delay!
Usually you can get an idea of the effectiveness of Canesten after 3 days of use.
Given your symptoms and that this is the first time, it is usually recommended to consult a doctor to rule out other causes. You can continue Canesten, but you should not delay consulting a doctor if it persists after 3 days of treatment.
I hope I've been helpful, I'm still available if you have any other questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
