Is it normal to have intense symptoms during my period (stomach/leg pain, dark thoughts)?

Hello, When I fall in my week, I have a lot of pain in my stomach and legs, I feel like my uterus is swollen. It takes all the space in my belly, to the point that I am not able to do anything anymore. Also, I have uncontrollable dark thoughts at that moment and it goes away afterwards.

Hello,
If you have started having symptoms during your period that prevent you from functioning and that cause you to have dark thoughts, no, this is not normal. I encourage you to discuss it with your doctor so that he can evaluate the cause. Many diseases (e.g. endometriosis, PMS) can cause the symptoms you describe, so this should be investigated. In the meantime, if you don't have any contraindications, you could try taking anti-inflammatory medications (e.g. Advil/ibuprofen, Aleeve/Naproxen) to relieve your inflammatory symptoms such as stomach pain and bloating.
