I have tinnitus and the feeling that I have little marbles running through my head when I move quickly or am exposed to a sudden noise after stopping Cymbalta. Is this normal? How long will this last?

I stopped taking duloxetine (Cymbalta) 5 days ago (I had been tapering off for 2 weeks).

Sensations of small balls in the head, hypereactivity to stimuli. I was taking generic Cimbalta for 3 months, before Effexor for 1 1/2 years for anxiety. Changed for neuropathic pain.

Hyperactivity (associated with less controlled anxiety) may be related to Cymbalta withdrawal. How quickly did you stop it, and what was it replaced with?

1 week every 2 days, 1 dose every 3 days on 2 occasions and half a tablet. No medication replaces it... In fact, I have much less stress in my life. I was going through a difficult period at the time. Cimbalta was suggested to me for the pain. What I feel is at the level of the head, impression of small electric shocks more frequent at the end of the day and dizziness (as in a merry-go-round which falls quickly), I also have tinnitus and tingling

It sounds a lot like tinnitus. Upon discontinuation of the Cymbalta class of drugs, this side effect has been reported before.

The references consulted mention that stress can aggravate the phenomenon and that the symptoms are usually transient. They also recommend, when withdrawal is not completed, to return to the lowest dose that allowed to stop "hearing" these noises.

In your case, if the withdrawal is over and your pain is no longer bothering you, I would not resume the medication right away. If the tinnitus does not disappear in a few days, go see your doctor.
