Good evening sir,
It is impossible to say whether the risk is present at a dose higher than 1200mg only, or whether the toxicity can also occur at a lower dose. Indeed, we do not have information at this level on the French cases that have been described in the last few days.
Given this lack of information, I recommend refraining from taking ibuprofen for all patients who are able to do so and preferring acetaminophen.
We look forward to receiving clear guidance on this matter in the coming days, when more data has been collected on the matter.
Good evening,
Alexandre Chagnon, pharmacist
