Good morning, ma'am,
When did you first notice this? Can you tell me what symptoms you have noticed in your child? Is there any redness? Is there any discharge during waking hours, and if so is it clear or whitish?

Since yesterday. Yes, there is discharge and it is yellowish/greenish. In the morning he wakes up with his eye stuck. For the moment it is only the left eye that is affected.

Thanks for the feedback. This is often associated with the common cold, it's like a cold that's "gone up" in the eye, and it usually resolves itself.
I only suggest using a clean wet towel or washcloth to clean up the buildup as needed, being careful not to share or reuse as it can be contagious. Do not worry if the other eye becomes affected, it spreads easily.
If the situation persists for more than 7 days without improvement or worsens, you will have to consult a doctor so as not to delay the management. I will remain available if you have any further questions!
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist
