Severe gastro symptoms such as nausea can last 24 to 72 hours but tend to diminish after that. If the fever persists for 72 hours, if you are unable to hydrate yourself, or if the diarrhea persists for more than 7 days without improvement, you should consult a doctor as a precaution.
For the next few days, I invite you to favour light foods such as soups, broths, toast, eggs, brown rice, and to avoid very fatty or very sweet foods such as red meat and undiluted fruit juices.
Be sure to stay well hydrated, taking 1 sip of fluid every 3 to 5 minutes (do not drink too quickly as it may cause the stomach to turn)
