Can the Minerva IUD cause stomach aches?

I have had severe stomach pains since I started taking the depo provera. Can the minerva IUD have the same side effect? (I can't take oral contraceptives because of migraines)

Hello Ma'am,

Yes, cramping is a possible side effect with the Mirena too. In both cases, it may be temporary.

That being written, there is an oral option containing only progesterone, just like Mirena and Depo-Provera. I encourage you to discuss this with your pharmacist/ne if you are interested.
